How Does a Direct Cremation Service Work?

A direct cremation is a simple ceremony, with no mourners, other than our funeral director. We take care of all the arrangements, informing you of the date and time that the cremation will occur. It is a peaceful and respectful service that allows you the freedom to celebrate the life of your loved one, as you so wish. After the cremation, you will be able to collect your loved one’s ashes.

Costs and Pricing

Direct cremation is the simplest and cheapest way to lay a loved one to rest in a respectful and dignified manner. We appreciate that this is a difficult time for all involved, and adding financial worries on top of grief and distress is unhelpful. Due to this, we are holding the cost of our direct cremation at £995.

Arrangements and Documentation

After the death of a loved one, you will need to obtain a death certificate in order to be able to arrange a cremation or funeral. When you have the death certificate, your loved one will be able to be released into our care. From then on, we will be able to take care of all the arrangements for you.

Transportation and Care of the Deceased

Once we have the correct documentation, we will be able to collect your loved one, and take care of them until the date of their cremation.

Customisation and Personalisation

Whilst this is a simple and unattended service, there may still be certain aspects that you would like to be done in a certain way. You may wish to visit your loved one in our private chapel of repose, which is a service we can offer for an additional fee. If you would like your loved one’s ashes returned in a solid oak casket, we can also arrange this for an additional fee. If there is anything else you would like, please speak to our helpful funeral directors.

Support for the Family

We are not just here for your loved one but for you and your family. The time after the death of a loved one is incredibly difficult, and we are here to provide support with kindness and compassion.
